Story
Dad passed away on Wednesday 21st June 2017. He was suffering with Alzheimer's and lived in a confused world. He had a good life, provided well for his family, his wife and four children and live to the good old age of 83+
In celebration of his life I've set myself the challenge to run 1000km before the 1st anniversary of his death. This is to raise money for the local support group my mother used to take him to on a Friday. Its call Friday Friends , a group for those who are diagnosed with some form of dementia or have memory problems. Held Every Friday (except 2nd week) 10:30-12:30 , at Sutton Coldfield Methodist Church.

My Brother Paul Matthews and Daughter Charlotte Hooper are also completing a 1000km challenge themselves.
1p per kilometer = £10.00 donation and every penny is a step towards my target!

7 years agoUpdate: From 21st June when Dad passed away till end of July I ran 30.26 km Through out July I ran 54.8km August 61.1km Total 146.16km Only 853.84 to go!!!

Lichfield 10K Road Race - Sunday 10 Sep 2017 - 10:30 THE LICHFIELD 10K AND FAMILY FUN RUN is one of the biggest and best sporting events in the area – Lichfield’s version of the London marathon, attracting around 1,500 entries each year, encouraging people to take up a more active lifestyle and raise funds for many local causes. Organised by Lichfield Running Club, it has gained a reputation as one of the premier events in the Midlands. 2017 is our 22nd annual event.
