Story
Back in August 2014 at the age of 7, Amy was diagnosed with the childhood Cancer Neuroblastoma. A growth attached to her adrenal gland was found during a routine scan investigating frequent urine infections.
This news obviously came as a massive shock, tests and scans were done on the tumor, which thankfully was found not to have spread to any other parts of Amy's body.
In November 2014 Amy was admitted to Birmingham Children's Hospital where an operation was carried out and the tumor successfully removed, without the need for Chemotherapy or any other treatment.
Following her operation Amy had regular scans to check for any relapse, up until November 2016, at the age of 9 and after 2 years of routine checks the Cancer was found to have returned. Again it is Neuroblastoma but this time the Cancer is within her Pelvis and Chemotherapy treatment had to be started immediately, again at Birmingham Children's Hospital.
Chemotherapy was started on 19th December and she has now had to endure 5 rounds of treatment, with another 3 planned. This will be followed by High Dosage Stem Cell Therapy as her final treatment.
Words cannot begin to describe how brave Amy has been so far throughout this ordeal and we are sure she will continue to fight and eventually beat this horrible disease.

8 years agoUPDATE. Amy has had results of scans and is doing really well, cancer is responding to treatment which is obviously the best news and things are going the right way. However, the treatment needs to continue as she is not where she needs to be just yet so she will be starting a new course of chemo next week. There is a lot more fight in her yet and she will not be beaten. As the response so far with donations has been so amazing, we've decided to keep her page open and increase the total as each target is met. Your support is amazing x
