Story
Andrew Currie was a Peterborough guy, a local guy, based and grew up in this great city many of you will call home. Living in Werrington he was a regular sight walking his dog Oakley along the popular spot Cuckoo's Hollow based in the PE4 area.
Andrew trained and qualified as a Teacher and held a position at Fulbridge School he was the Teaching and learning lead there, he Worked as part of Teach East in 2016 and in his own words was "passionate about developing knowledgeable and critical Trainees" he would play a key role in improving the educational outcomes for children across the city of Peterborough.
Andrew had some hard personal situations in his life that he struggled to deal with mentally, he also found it hard to share these with others. He tried to fight these alone but sadly he lost his fight with these and passed away during late December.
Andrew will be fondly missed by his family and friends alike, he will also be remembered by locals in the area who met him and his friendly dog Oakley whom he regularly walked round Cuckoo's hollow.
Its because of his time here that in his memory we are trying to raise this amount to have a bench placed here dedicated to him and the time he spent here with Oakley.
The chance to sit and take in the views and nod your head to Andrew in this very special place in Peterborough just seems right. We want to honour Andrew with this very special gift and in his name put something else into the community he lived in just as he put into it during his life.

Andrew was such a positive and enthusiastic delegate at several of my NASBTT training events - such a sad loss to teaching and to life.

We didn’t know Andrew, but our daughter Abi, worked with him for a brief time since she started Fulbridge in September and she always spoke so highly of him. Our condolences to the family.

I was saddened to hear about Andrew. He helped me when I was a reading Coordinator. He was friendly, creative, passionate and a lovely guy. We used to chuckle at sharing the same surname.
