Story
Our beautiful Ani died on 13 November 2021. Ani was five days away from her 34th birthday.
Just three weeks ago Ani was diagnosed with very aggressive cancer. She was told on 10 November her cancer was terminal and there were no treatment options. She began End of Life care on 11 November and passed away on 13 November.
Ani is leaving her seven year old daughter Dorothy and her partner Dan.
Ani had almost no time to prepare herself, Dan or Dorothy before passing away. Unfortunately Ani, like many others, had neither life insurance nor substantial savings.
We are hoping to raise enough money to be able to provide Dan with some money to allow him time to grieve, to thank the Lawrence Ward staff for caring for Ani and most of all to provide Dorothy with a fund to enable her to have some of the experiences Ani had hoped to give her over the coming years.
Many people have asked Ani, Dan or myself how they can help since they heard Ani was admitted to hospital in October. We haven't been able to draw on much help because of the nature of cancer care in the time of Covid. We have all been deeply moved by the outpouring of love during the worst of times.
We are now asking for anyone who would like to contribute to this fund to please do so.
Part of the money raised will be used to provide the wonderful nursing and care staff at Lawrence Ward, Medway Hospital, with a gift. Their dedicated and compassionate care allowed Ani a peaceful passing and gave us strength to support her in these last weeks.
Ani has expressed some wishes for her funeral, one of which was to limit flowers. Please donate any flower money to this fund.

3 years agoToday is three months since Ani died. It is so raw, so unreal and so incredibly painful. I know some people have been to the burial ground, please do keep going, it is a lovely place to reflect. If you visit Ani you will see the most beautiful bees Dorothy made for her Mummy. In the coming month Ani's crab apple tree will be planted too. Dan has taken a wonderful gift to the staff that cared for Ani, bespoke Tatty Devine necklaces made by Ani's colleagues. I will add photos! I hope you are all doing as well as you can be. Lots of love x

3 years agoA New Year. A Year without Ani here. Christmas was hard for everyone that loves Ani. This fundraiser has been amazing! There is enough to see Dan through until he is back on tour, to make a really good thank you to each nurse AND donate a substantial sum to ward and enough to get Dorothy booked to do some cool stuff Ani wanted to enjoy with her. I'm going to be closing the page in about a month, in November we will raise some money for charities close to Ani's heart and relevant to her illness. Thank you all so much x

3 years agoChristmas is drawing closer and we are all feeling the loss of Ani more than ever. Ani was much more prepared for Christmas than most of us, Dan has had some time to find the hidden gifts and get them wrapped for Dorothy. It has been so tough for him preparing for a Christmas without Ani by his side. This should have been their first Christmas altogether in their new home. This year have a look at the moon and think of Ani. Hold those dear to you closer than ever. Try to remember Ani's kindness and share it with those you love x
