    Story

    It's OK not to be OK

    To most people who knew him, Daz (@beardedtruckeruk) was a strong charismatic character who was always smiling and lifting everyone up. But underneath his wonderfully handsome smile he struggled daily with his thoughts.

    Tragically Darran recently took his own life, and his family and partner would now like to raise money to give him an amazing send off and help more men who struggle with their mental health to reach out for help.

    The Lions Barber Collective is an international collection of top barbers which have come together to help raise awareness for the prevention of suicide. Encouraging barbers to create a safe place for men to open up and offload and to signpost to already existing charities and organisations.

    Beard love <3

    Darran loved sharing his appreciation of his own beard and the bearded communities he was a special part of on social media. He had association with the British Beard and Moustache Championships on a regular basis. you can check him out in action here on his YouTube channel.

    His partner Karen, who is a coach and mindfulness teacher shares something personal from her own special relationship with him;

    "When I told Daz that I loved him, he always replied "love you more". This now has an even more significant meaning to me. It feels like we all really do need to love ourselves more and reach out for help when we need it! The phrase 'Love YOU more' will now be used to help raise awareness of the importance of self-worth and self-love through my own coaching and mentoring work".
