On April 18th 2018 our colleague and friend Sharon Cousins was tragically taken from us whilst doing the job she loved.at East Midlands Airport. On April 11th whilst at work she suffered a massive cardiac arrest and brain aneurysm almost simultaneously resulting in extensive irreparable brain damage. She was taken to QMC and stabilised and the aneurysm was coiled to prevent further bleeding. However, due to this invasive but successful procedure she also suffered a stroke which led to further damage to her brain. The doctors, nurses and consultants at QMC were absolutely incredible, ensuring that Sharon was stable and comfortable during her final days.

At 23.11 her ventilator was removed and her life support systems closed and she was able to breathe on her own, and at 23.14 she took her last breath and said goodbye to us.

This has left her partner Jay and her family understandably devastated and we woukd like to offer our support by raising as much money as we can for those affected to use as they need to. Both Sharon and Jay work at East Midlands Airport and the whole airport family have been touched by this tragedy.

A group of us will be walking Ben Nevis on 8th August 2018. We would be forever grateful if you could help us raise as much as possible for the family to help them through this sudden tragedy.
