    Story

I saw a Twitter post about a young boy and felt compelled to try and help. With permission from his Gran - I can now share his story with you.

Kyle Burns, a 13yr old school boy from Galston, Ayrshire, loves to play football and plays for his local home town team. Kyle collapsed recently and was taken to hospital at Crosshouse where he was able to walk through the doors of A&E, and then collapsed again, telling his mum that he couldn't feel his legs. Kyle was later transferred to Glasgow for further care and tests, and the outcome of Kyles condition would be devastating for the young boy and his family.

Fibrocartilaginous Embolism - A spinal blood clot, leading to spinal stroke, which caused a tear in his spinal cord. Kyle has been left unable to feel anything below his rib cage and the Doctors have told Kyles mum that he may never walk again.

This is where we come in...…………… Hope and support could provide Kyle with an opportunity to defy the odds.

I will be running the Glasgow Half Marathon in September to raise as much money as I possibly can for Kyle and I would be grateful for any donation, small or large that would provide financial support for the unknown, so that Kyle and his Family can focus on the hear and now while planning his road to recovery.

Kyle's family will require a wheelchair amongst other supporting equipment, along with unknown expenses that may crop up during this young lads rehabilitation and as a parent and football coach myself, his story has really inspired me to do my bit to help him in his recovery journey and as a collective group from my own boys club, we aim to show this support on the basis that other parents, coaches, boys clubs, would hope that they would receive similar support from the wider community if something this tragic occurred to there players and kids.

Although i have never met Kyle, or any of his family for that matter, I have been directly involved in Youth Football for many years now, and as a Father to a football loving 11yr old - Kyles story resonates with me and it has compelled me to want to help him in anyway i can.
