Story
Recently they have helped my family with support after my nephew at just 8 months old was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer.
This year I am Running in the London Marathon In aid of Clic Saragent who have helped my sister massively since being diagnosed.
Here is my sisters story -
"Our little guy Lochie was born on 29th January 2017, a healthy 7lb 15oz, he was just the happiest baby ever, sleeping all night from an early age, and charming everyone with his smile from the minute he knew how to. He was born into a very loving little family, Mum Joanne, Dad David, and Brother Logan, not to forget our little Pomeranian doggy Mikey all based in Broughty Ferry - On 29th September of the same year we were struck a blow that was to change our lives as we knew them, and to date we are still living in the aftermath of it. After countless trips to doctors and hospitals, Lochie was diagnosed with Stage 4 (High Risk) Neuroblastoma. This is a very aggresive form of childhood Cancer. Since his diagnosis Lochie has had 9 doses of chemotherapy, 16 blood transfusions, 9 General Anaesthetics, 6 MRI scans, 3 ultrasounds, and recently surgery to remove the primary tumour, along with his right kidney. There are still many more treatments to go before Lochie is out of the woods, it is expected to take us through to at least the 12 month mark, if we are lucky enough to see treatment carried out without any set backs. Lochie has been responding to treatment extremely well, attending Edinburgh Sick Kids Hospital every 10 days for 3 days at a time - alongside all of the other procedures mentioned above. Lochie was a very sick baby when he was first admitted to hospital, and for 2 weeks he lay on his back unresponsive to every procedure, even down to canulas being pushed into every available vessel in his body. However at the end of week 3 he was dicharged for a few days, and has managed to go home (against all odds) after every set of chemotherapy. His smile came back, he has developed his own amazingly endearing little character that melts everyones hearts (not least the nurses and medical staff) and is that happy little boy who he used to be. Unfortunately although Lochie is doing so well, the task of keeping him this way and preventing him slipping backwards, or worse still being taken from us, is not only a physically and an emotionally draining process, but time consuming, and not without expense. We are a very proud little family, and have avoided setting up such a page for a few months now, however the demand from generous friends, relatives, neighbours and even strangers, to be allowed the chance to do 'something' to help has led to us giving in to 'justgiving'"
Thank you so much for your support, all donations are welcome. If you have any questions about my story please feel free to get in touch.
