I'm trying to raise money to help save the life of a great friends son, Morgan.

Morgan has been hit by one of the rarest types of caner; multi system high risk refractory Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) with skin, bone, liver and spleen involvement. Langerhan cells are white blood cells in your immune system that usually help the body fight infection. In the case of LCH they turn on your body, accumulating together and start attacking your body.

Morgans liver and spleen didn’t respond to first line treatment or salvage chemotherapy and has been on a trial drug since May. The only sure way of knowing if the disease itself is under control at present is a biopsy of the liver which is too dangerous to do given the size of his liver and spleen.

Unfortunately the disease and treatments have took its toll on Morgans liver and he has gone into liver failure caused by cirrhosis -scarring of the liver.

He requires a liver transplant and awaits being listed due to bleeding varices, the scarring of the liver prevents blood to flow through the liver requiring several visits to theatre to have banding to prevent further bleeding. The long term fix to the bleeding is a liver transplant.

Once Morgans liver has been removed they can perform a biopsy to find out if the LCH is still active, if it is then he will also require a bone marrow transplant.

The reason I want to raise money for Morgan and his family is that this has been going on since August 2016 and it is starting to take its toll on the family financially, so I am trying to make the stress easy on the family if the child can get the treatments that he needs the fuel costs for the visits etc...
