The Charlie Round Foundation

Our little boy Charlie Round was only 2 years old when he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in July 2016.

He battled this awful Cancer for 9 months, before passing away at the age of 3. He suffered with all of the possible side effects from Chemotherapy, endured almost 11 hours of abdominal surgery and extensive stays in Birmingham Children's Hospital.

His final stay in hospital was from 12th December 2016 until he passed away in intensive care from Chemotherapy toxicity on 24th March 2017.

We are raising money in his memory to give children and their families emotional and financial support during the worst possible time in their life.

We had a lot of support from our communities, being in hospital, we knew this wasn't always the case for other families. Many parents really struggle to afford the extra costs with staying in hospital, as most have to give up work to care for their sick child.

We aim for this to be a continued support for families, keeping our little boys memory alive.

We aim for 'The Charlie Round Foundation' to be a registered charity in the near future if we are able to raise enough funds. Until then, we wanted to make a start and raise money. Even £1 spare can add up to much more!

About Neuroblastoma:

Neuroblastoma most commonly occurs in one of the adrenal glands situated above the kidneys, or in the nerve tissue that runs alongside the spinal cord in the neck, chest, tummy or pelvis.

It can spread to other organs such as the bone marrow, bone, lymph nodes, liver and skin.

It affects around 100 children each year in the UK and is most common in children under the age of five.
