    Story

"ASPIRE, TO INSPIRE, BEFORE YOU EXPIRE"

We are taking part in the Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge on Monday the 18th of December to help raise money to support young people with life changing opportunities. The Yorkshire 3 Peaks is a challenging 24 mile walk to be  completed within 12 hours and summiting 3 peaks, Pen-y-Ghent 694m (2277ft), Whernside 736m (2415ft) and Ingleborough 723m (2372ft) .

Lancashire Army Cadets have formed a charity (The Friends of Lancashire Charity) to help support our exciting and ambitious programme of adventure and self-development.

The Army Cadet force ensures that no child goes without. Every child that steps through the door regardless of background, age, gender, etc. will have equal and life changing opportunities. Not only do young people have these amazing experiences they also gain recognised qualifications which  will help and assist with their career aspirations.

Recently, we have sent cadets from all over the county to France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. Cadets have marched, parachuted, kayaked, climbed and caved. We also run the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, provide BTECs, First Aid at Work training and other recognised qualifications. But all of these activities come at a cost, to help us give all the children in Lancashire Army Cadets the opportunity to take part in these exciting adventures, we set up Friends of Lancashire Army Cadets to help us meet these costs.

These activities may include, Adventurous Training Equipment, Adventurous Activities, Overseas Travel, exciting Expeditions - including the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme -and other similar activities. To give you an idea of what's coming up and where we'll be using the money in 2018, we are planning on sending a team to the 160km Nijmegen March in Holland, Canoeing Expedition in Scotland, hiking in Bavaria and Adventure Training in North Wales.

For the people that know us dealing with young people and seeing them achieve gives us great satisfaction, knowing that you have had a part to play in there journey to success or achievement is something that inspires Us. By taking part in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks allows us to contribute a little further to help a young person on their journey.

I'm hoping to have a GPS tracker on my journey so you can  physically see how we are getting on :)

Any donations will be greatly accepted. (Please share my just giving page).
