Story
On 20th November 2016, I will be running the Gosport Half Marathon.
I am proud to be supporting the The Alex Wardle Foundation Fund which was set up in memory of Alex Wardle, who passed away in March 2016 from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS). Every week in the UK, at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions (www.c-r-y.org.uk). SADS is caused by a disturbance in the heart’s rhythm, of which there are many causes, despite the person not having any physical heart disease. Alex was a medical student, working in research, and I want to continue his legacy by helping to further understand SADS and prevent deaths from the condition. The charity was set up by Alex’s family and close friends with this goal in mind.
