On April 15th I am running the Brighton Marathon (yes it is 26.2 miles). A week later on 22nd I am running the London Marathon. This is all in memory of my husband Chris and raising money for The Chris Aked Foundation.

Chris sadly lost his fight to bowel cancer on 7th September 2017 after a very short 5 months from diagnosis.
Chris was diagnosed when our baby daughter Freya was just 11 weeks old and sadly will not get to see her grow up. He was only 33

Chris was the most determined person through his illness and we want to help others who are having to deal with this terrible disease.
We have set up a charity that will help support the mental and physical wellbeing of children who have someone in their family battling serious illness.
We are giving them counselling, physical activities and family memory making experiences.

We got our registered charity number from the charity commission on 11th April and continue to plan the structure of the charity to ensure this is a success.
All of the money raised on this page is going to the charity and will be such a great help to many children & families. We have already raised an incredible £40k and we know that this will be able to help so many families.
