Meet George…George is 12 years old and quite simply a star. Kind, talented, funny and a glass half full approach George always makes me smile and I know I speak for everyone who meets him when I say that. George was also diagnosed with a rare and inoperable brain tumour 2 years ago. He has since undergone emergency brain surgery to relieve pressure on parts of the brain surrounding the tumour, a brain biopsy and 30 rounds of radiotherapy to-date but at this point it seems he will continue to need further medical investigations and care from the specialist teams across the UK. Since treatment for his particular tumour isn't available for children in Cornwall the family are having to travel to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and University College London Hospital many times in order for him to receive the care he needs and this situation is set to continue long-term for George.I was lucky enough to get a London Marathon ballot place and rather than run for one of the charities I’ve chosen to raise money for George and his unbelievably amazing family. The financial impact on them is huge so any money will go to raising valuable funds for his treatment which may involve travelling even further afield. Dig deep people… George’s Journey fund deserves every valuable penny.
