Story
On August 18th I'm cycling a ludicrous 1,000 miles (1,609 km) from John O'Groats to Lands End to raise money and awareness of the polluted air problem at Bowes Primary School (where my son goes to school). The school is right next to the North Circular road, a hot-spot for congested traffic, heavy goods vehicles and very poor air quality.
Everything I raise will go straight towards the long term initiative by Friends of Bowes, “Clean and Green at Bowes”, who are committed to developing and funding sustainable environment improving projects for the school. Initiatives include a green screen, polluted air cleaning plants, trees in the playground area and if we can raise enough, even air filtration units for the classrooms. Money donated today will improve the air children breathe today and long into the future.
This is an incredibly tough challenge and will take 10 days, averaging 100 miles every day, so please help keep me going by supporting my ride. I'm paying for my own trip - no donations will go towards that!
Training hasn't been easy!

5 years agoFinished! 1,013 miles in 10 days. EPIC! Lots of rain, wind, hills, sunshine, countless counties, and lots and lots of pedalling. Thank you for your support. It helped me get through this crazy adventure and will make a huge difference to the kids of Bowes Park School. 🙏🚴💨

5 years agoLast training ride yesterday, more of a light 60 mile spin to keep the legs moving. The training has been going well, lots of long rides home and abroad, and feel only just a bit terrified at the prospect of the ride. Thank you to everyone who has supported. It means a huge amount to me and will have a big impact at Bowes Primary. 78% of target met already! If you want to follow me, you can see what I've done on Strava https://www.strava.com/athletes/287259, a free website for cyclists and runners. My ride will be uploaded every day.
