What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

The Doncaster Chronicle reported in 1917 that Doncaster's Home Front was rallying together to send out gifts in time for Christmas for every Doncaster soldier fighting in the First World War. Through out the First World War fundraising and supporting the troops became part of everyday life on the Home Front.

With the support of Care for Casualties, Doncaster 1914-18 is commemorating the fundraising efforts of the First World War by sending out gifts to soldiers currently serving with the Rifles Regiment in time for Christmas 2018. The Rifles is the successor regiment of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.

We need your support in fundraising for the gifts that will be sent to soldiers. We are aiming to raise £500 on just giving and will post updates about offline donations and items donated to the cause.
