£937raised of £2,250 target by 42 supporters

Weʼve raised £937 to help fund a new initiative being piloted with Swindon Council's Fostering & Adoption team for the benefit of looked after children.

    Swindon, United Kingdom
Funded on Saturday, 4th November 2017

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

Thousands of children enter the foster care system in the UK each year. Many carry little more than the clothes on their backs. We want to implement an initiative within our Society to provide the essentials to these brave children on their journey to find a home.

Our mission is to provide comfort, support and a sense of dignity for children entering the foster care system. We want to enable this by producing age and gender appropriate back packs (or similar) containing essential items as well as comforting items which can be given to children.

We call this initiative ‘CUBs’ = Comfort U Bags

We are currently running a pilot for CUBs in conjunction with Swindon Council's Fostering & Adoption team. We want to produce at least 65 CUBs for the children in their care in addition to supporting them increasing awareness of fostering and how to become a foster carer.

Any donation would be much appreciated.

Thanks from team CUBs - Sian Briddon, Stacey Hurst, Alex Holland, Sarju Mistry, Daniel Warren, Lewis Kimber, Lindsey Ward & Neil Spark

With £1080 raised to date we’re busy shopping for CUB contents. Here’s tonight’s post work effort 😊 So much more to do but we should have our first 20 CUBs with Swindon’s Fostering & Adoption team ready for placement by the end on the month! Thanks for your support! 🐻

Wow - fundraising coming through with £800 raised offline on Wednesday through very generous work colleagues - that's a LOT of CUBs 🐻 going to some very brave children going into foster care for the first time. The team are super chuffed! Thank you 🤗
