Story
In July 2015, my daughter Seren was born nine weeks premature at NHS Ayrshire Maternity Unit. She spent the first six weeks of her life in the NICU, at the Neo Natal Unit at Crosshouse Hospital, where she got bigger and stronger and without the care of the midwives and staff, she wouldn't have had the start to life she's had. My wife, Susanne and I couldn't be more grateful for them and what they did for us and for Seren.
So, to give even just a little bit back, I'm taking to the road and walking The Kiltwalk 2018 on the Glasgow route, looking to raise money for this excellent unit and help support the great work they do.
We'll never be able to repay them for what they did for us, but I want to do this to show them how grateful we'll always be that our little chicken is the healthy little girl she is today because of what they did for her.
To that end, I'm asking you to help me raise lots of pennies so they can help the other wee babies that need love and care from these wonderful people.
Thank you, always.

6 years agoGetting to five weeks before the 23-mile KiltWalk and all going well so far. Today, I've walked almost 11 miles, between the treadmill I use at work and walking around town. It's been commented on that I'm visibly losing weight, which is obviously a good thing and I feel myself that I have more energy about me so this exercise is doing me some good. But it's all about raising lots of money for the Neo Natal Unit and the care the excellent staff at Crosshouse Hospital give to the babies. These people are amazing and I need your support.
