Story
Hello, i'm Funmi V Ullam. My 1st born son Eli (pictured) was diagnosed with a life threatening condition at 2wks old. This has changed the trajectory of our lives.
Eli is now 10, he has spent most of his life in and out of hospital.
Sickle Cell is one of the worlds most common genetic conditions yet it is vastly underfunded. Treatment options are limited.
Kids with Sickle Cell suffer with chronic pain. The pain is triggered by a combination of things including extreme heat or extreme cold.
We have no way to capture data to show the reality of living with sickle cell. We want to be able to log the number of pain crisis, severity of pain. pain location, pain frequency. Pain has a direct impact on a number of areas (mood, concentration at school, mental health) For the parents we want to provide the ability to log medications administered, water and hydration ( with gamification to encourage reaching the daily water targets) Diet and nutrition, supplements.
This data is crucial.
What we can measure, we can manage. Data collection in healthcare allows health systems to create holistic views of our patients, personalise treatments, advance treatment methods, improve communication between doctors and patients, and enhance health outcomes.
Once we hit target, we will create an MVP of the app.
App development, Branding and app identity, Mentorship and guidance from senior members of Expert Apps, Privacy policies, terms and conditions, GDPR compliance, App submission to Apple & Google stores (IOS/Android), App Updates, All future core app upgrades , AWS very high performing server maintenance & running costs for 12 months, Support program, including unlimited access to Expert Apps Lab, Weekly Clinics and Quarterly ‘Appsterminds’ and a family feel community.Powerful communication methods. Which include push notifications, inbox messaging & email delivery, Training.
We are also looking to include consumer wearables to work alongside this.
Target Launch with Pilot Group : March 2023
It is key for us to track key metrics and data. We want to provide rewards to help incentivise these children. If we can identify key trends - this will help drive smarter solutions to pave the way for improved future treatments
