Liz was passionate about lighting. Liz’s work on projects such as Dover Castle and the award-winning Iron Bridge at Telford showed her to be at the leading edge of her profession, but her passion for the work of the Society of Light & Lighting was a driving force in her life. The SLL truly was Liz’s enduring love, here she used her amazing talent for making friends to get people to volunteer.

Having been Secretary to the Society for a number of years, a time where she helped build the society’s current success, she became President in 2015, the same year as the UNESCO International Year of Light – Liz’s contribution was both remarkable and unparalleled, the Night of Heritage Lighting – for that she was voted Lux Person of the Year.

The SLL and Liz’s family want to continue her work, to help people understand light, to use it well, to teach it and to get people involved. For this they are setting up a fund in her name and in her memory. Thank you for your support
