I'm contesting the UKIP party leadership on a platform of establishing broad and explicit support for issues that already have some support with the people.
Our government is weak, self-serving and highly polarised. This does not bode well for competent government or true representation. The systemic problems of our society, such as a failing healthcare system, unaffordable housing, an underclass of working people not earning enough to live properly and unsustainable levels of immigration are not being addressed, despite all the promises. Governments with minority support can never tackle the really difficult problems.
Our political class, instead, are more concerned with popularity and the next election rather than tacking the deep-rooted issues, which means that these can only get worse. UKIP, as a party unsullied by vested interests must evolve from its campaign roots of independence from the EU to provide a real alternative and I, through my website, my writings and my speeches am seeking to create a better, more democratic and more responsive governmental system.

Never have we needed the alternative of independent thought as much as we do now.
Contesting this election is expensive but I have already made the financial commitment to do that (£5,500) from personal savings. I do it, from limited funds, to introduce a voice of reason and innovation. Although I will not win, I can make an impact and influence the direction of travel with my ideas and a method of thinking which is different.
