For anybody that knew Dean Robinson, they would tell you that he was a fun loving, hilarious, intelligent man and friend to many.

As a school teacher, Dean touched the hearts and souls of so many children, their families and his colleagues.

Since 2017 Dean fought long and hard against pancreatic cancer and on 13th March 2023 he took his final breath. Towards the end of his life, Dean became a huge inspiration for everybody around him. He documented his final weeks in his personal blog which can be accessed using the link below..

Dean was a much respected member of the Seaham community and was an integral part of Seaham Harbour Cricket Club where he would host regular quiz nights and often took over the microphone on karaoke nights.

Dean leaves behind his amazing wife Rebecca and their 3 children, Jake 26, Liam 16 and Lily 10.

Unfortunately when Dean was told that his illness had become terminal he had hoped to be able to use his life insurance policy to get his house in order and take away the worry for Rebecca when the time came that he was no longer able to provide for them all. Unfortunately due to discrepancy on his life insurance application form, Legal and General refused to pay out. Although the family got legal representation and fought hard to get the decision challenged, they were unsuccessful and so understandably this has had a huge financial burden on the family.

Seaham Harbour Cricket Club would like to set up this memorial and support fund in order to raise money to help support Rebecca and her family at this incredibly difficult and sad time
