Story
Keep The Dream 196 are an NGO based in Tzaneen, Limpopo, South Africa. They work with vulnerable children and orphans through a cubs and scouts movement and do not exclude children from either background from joining. KTD works with over 2000 South African orphaned and vulnerable children within Limpopo, South Africa from the ages of 5 to 25 years and helps in changing families, villages and eventually the country by transferring Life skills. The children learn and apply Integrity, Honesty, Self Leadership and Leadership in practical everyday situations. One child said "Turning 18, all I had to look forward to was learning to smoke and dying of AIDS, but now I have hope".
Crime, Teenage Pregnancy, Poverty, HIV, Unemployment and Hopelessness are the main challenges confronting children in Tzaneen, Limpopo, South Africa. Keep The Dream 196 works with 149 volunteers in 87 villages helping children to build resilience to overcome often horrendous life situations and build on those successes so that the children will have the emotional, physical and spiritual strength to enter adulthood as leaders and help others to achieve their dreams. Keep The Dream are impacting and building South Africa today.
Every £5 donated will help keep a child in Keep The Dream for a year and currently there are over 2000 kids on the programme though the number fluctuates.
