My name is Ernie Wakeford. I am 13 and have been selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea in 2023. The World Scout Jamboree is a gathering of thousands of Scouts from across the globe. Every scout attending from the UK has to raise £4000. Not only will the funds I raise allow me to attend the Jamboree, but they will also help Scouts from less wealthy countries and backgrounds get to the event.

I am raising funds through cake sales, stalls, sponsored runs and walks and group events. Because of the international situation I have donated £420 of the money raised from this page to the the International Rescue Committee and will give a portion of money raised on this page through other events to the charity as well. The International Rescue Committee works with people in areas affected by conflict and natural disasters, as well as helping refugees resettle in other countries.

After my successful 11.5km run earlier in the summer, the next challenge I've set myself is to walk 25 miles of the South Downs way in one weekend. I will do this in late September or early October depending on the weather. I've planned a route that is 15 miles on day one, ending at Ditchling Beacon, then 10 miles on day two from Ditchling Beacon.
