I am running the 2018 Cambridge Half Marathon to raise money for Fundación VIHDA.

Fundación VIHDA, is an Ecuadorean NGO dedicated since 2006 to preventing mother-to-child HIV transmission during pregnancy and birth of babies born to HIV-positive women. Since its founding, it has conducted over 350,000 HIV tests to expecting mothers and has detected and successfully treated over 1,800 HIV pregnant women and their babies, who were born HIV-free thanks to timely treatment.

Having spent the summer of my first year at Cambridge working at VIHDA, I’ve seen first hand the difference that they make and would be so grateful for any support that you can give!

The work VIHDA does is amazing: not only do they provide medical assistance to HIV infected pregnant women, so that their babies are born free of HIV, but they also act as a crucial support system for these women, many of whom are, often, extremely young.

All the money raised will go towards timely detecting and treating young pregnant women, as well as their newborn children, so they can be born healthy and HIV-free.
