inIn March of this year, we lost our best friend Daniel to suicide. Daniel was truly the funniest, most compassionate & most loving human we have ever met. He taught us how to live joyously & how to love boldly; we are so thankful and honoured to have had friendships with him. We miss him so very much.

September is suicide prevention month and we wanted to honour Daniel in giving back to 2 separate charities, with donations split 50/50.

The first charity, Cambridge Streetbite is one which Daniel cared for deeply. Streetbite is a student led voluntary organisation, providing food & community to the homeless in Cambridge. Whilst at university, Daniel had volunteered at Streetbite; his commitment to serve and love others, and especially the community around him was incomparable.

Our second chosen charity is Samaritans. Samaritans provides comfort for anyone seeking mental health support, often through their 24/7 helpline. Their support of students, healthcare workers, and friends of those in need is so valuable, and their work in making suicide prevention their priority is really encouraging.

Throughout September, some of us will be running or walking 50 miles in memory of Dan and to support these charities, so that maybe one day there will be less people on the streets, and more people picking up the phone.
