As a dedicated member of 1st Pocklington Scouts, I recently applied for a place at the 24th World Scout Jamboree – a unique opportunity to spend 3 weeks in the USA, meet up with 40,000 Scouts from across the globe and take part in an adventure of a lifetime! Following a grueling selection weekend, I was thrilled to be offered a place! I am one of just 36 successful Scouts from over 200 who applied in Humberside. In order to fund my place I must raise £4,000 before July 2019 - no small task! I have begun planning a variety of events to take place over the course of next 18 months, some individually and some alongside my fellow Jamboree-goers.
