I will be running the Birmingham Half Marathon on the 16th October with my brother and sister in memory of our late mother Emmie Hartill, who passed away at Leasowes Intermediate Care Centre following a brief battle with cancer.
Myself and my family cannot express how grateful we were for their care and compassion whilst mom was coming towards the end of her life. My mom was only there for a short time but while she was there the staff lightened the burden by going above and beyond in making her as comfortable as possible.
As they get very little funding, we chose to raise money for them by completing this run to say thank you and show our appreciation for everything they did.
