In February 2018, I am going to Goa with the college and my fellow college students. We are going to Goa with the charity 'Novi Survat' who are a UK based charity who supports children in different countries. They help to provide the children with a starting point for school and education which then leads onto providing them with a sponsorship for full time education throughout primary and secondary school. They also to help to provide a care centre for the children which provides physiotherapy for children with special educational needs which also has links to a care home for children with HIV. We are going out there to provide care for the children who have lived in the slums who now attend school where we will be attending the settings and playing with the children due to this we will be re decorating the setting for the children while we visit. We will also be visiting the care centre and learning how to look after the children in these conditions. While we are there we will be doing various other things such as going to a monkey sanctuary and learning how to cook a traditional Indian curry. In order to do this each pupil needs to raise an amount of money to be able to attend this trip, which allows us to take the money with us where we will be able to provide the children with key equipment which they may be unable to access. We will be taking along all donations given as well as toys and books to help redecorate the classrooms.
