My dad George is 58 and has a number of complex health conditions but recently he was diagnosed with mixed dementia. We do not no how fast he will deteriate ,but we notice a new thing for gotten every day.

Like most people he has dreams, now a lot of his are not possible due to his overall health, but there are a still some small simple things he dreams of doing while he is able to enjoy them. Sadly he probably want remember much about them in time, but he can still enjoy it in the moment. His wife children, grandchildren and friends will cherish the memorie of his happy smile and the joy he had completing his dreams.

Elaine my mum George's devoted wife of 32 years has stood by and cared from him since he had a stroke in 2014, always putting his needs before her own. We want to give her a treat a little break to put herself first. As im writing this she has been diagnosed with a rare eye condition which will require regular treatment but unfortunately ending in blindness, again no time scale, but we want her to achieve her dreams just like dad while she can and while dad is around to see her do it.

Now mum hasn't even thought of the things she really wants to do because thinking of herself is not easy, how ever dad has made a list.

Not a list of really expensive things but simple things like, a holiday with all his children and grandchildren ( this is booked for this year ), too see brown bears he cant fly but Dartmoor zoo in devnon is home to 1 brown bear. A trip to ireland, a place he spent alot of his childhood but has not returned since becoming a dad. To learn to play one song, any song on the guitar and a few more additional simple wishes.

We intend to fund as much of these things as we can, but we need to also be realistic and ensure that when the time comes mum has no worries about funeral costs.

So that is why we are askig for help, we want to help an amazing couple make meroies together while they both can.
