My mom found out she had pancreatic cancer on 19th January, which had spread to her liver and was incurable and given weeks to a month, we were all devasted and couldn't believe this was happening to her, as she has always been fit, selfless, youthful looking and always running around after others.
After finding out, my mom remained strong and brave and worried about everyone else. Sadly my mom passed away a week later on the 26th Jan, a week, this disease took over and my mom deteriorated very fast, for someone so active became so weak.
Our mom, our best friend is now pain free.
She had her loved ones around her, her husband and her 5 children.
My mom saw us take our first breath into this world and we saw her take her last.
I am doing this to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, many people including myself have never heard of it. Many of the symptoms are most common symptoms we all get, pancreatic cancer is known as the silent killer as most people don't get diagnosed until it's too late. This cancer has the lowest survival rate. Other cancer over the years the survival rate has grown, 40 years ago the survival rate for pancreatic cancer was 3% and it still stands at 3%today.
I might not make a difference alone but I want to give it ago. So in June I will be partaking in a skydive from 10,000 feet. Anyone that knows me well, will know that I am petrified of heights, I even have panic attacks when going on water slides, and this is something I said I would never do. My attitude is if I'm going to make a difference, I need to do something that's not going to be easy for me to do.
Mom your forever in our hearts and I really hope you come fly with me and if I have second thoughts while I'm 10,000 feet high, just push me out that plane lol.
