Story
Hi my name is Dolly Hope Taylor and i am nearly 4years old, I love ballet dancing and attend a ballet class every week, I enjoy swimming, and love playing with my 2 sisters Lacey and Angel.
When I was born 10 weeks premature I was very poorly, doctors didn't know if I was going to survive due to my body fighting over 75% infection, thanks to the amazing Doctors on Neonatal at North Staffs hospital I beat all the odds and here I am today and I am one happy little girl.
I am the same as any other little girl although I have quadriplegic cerebral palsy which means my arms and legs don't work as they should, which can be very frustrating as I want to play and do what every other little girl does but my body doesn't let me. I have a standing frame to help me stand, a supportive chair to enable me to sit and a pacer which I am practicing my steps. I will soon be the owner of a motorised wheelchair, I am so excited as I have always wanted a bike, so this will mean I am able to go from room to room by myself without being carried by my Mummy or Daddy
Me and my family are trying to raise funds to enable me to have access downstairs so I can use my wheelchair and practice my steps, and for the first time experience independence.
I am due to receive a grant through the disability funding but unfortuantly this will not cover the whole cost of the build this is why we are trying to fundraise the difference so the work can be carried out.
I am a very determined little girl, I have daily physiotherapy and fingers crossed with support I will be able to attend mainstream school next September.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story
lots of hugs and kisses Dolly xxxxxx
