In 2021, we were introduced to the children of the Novosilsk regional special educational complex in Ternopil, Western Ukraine.

And once we learned of their plight and how underprivileged they all were, we were determined to give each child a gift for Christmas.

The children that attend this school are aged from 5 to 17 and have complex learning needs which their families are unable to support. For some children, their families are very poor or have their own social or personal problems meaning they cannot care for their own children.

The centre provides a safe environment where the children can stay, learn and play.

After seeing how all the children loved their gifts last year, we have decided to organise another appeal in 2021.

Huddersfield Ukrainian Club are collecting shoeboxes or donations towards shoeboxes to ensure each children will receive a present this Christmas.

If you cannot donate a shoebox, please donate whatever you can afford. Let's give these children a gift again this Christmas so they feel loved and know that someone cares!
