Story
From early on in my life, my dad was an inspiration to me in so many ways. From a devoted family man who put family first to an energetic sports fan who taught my brother and I the love of sport, morale values and hard work.
After the highest and happiest moment of my life at our wedding to my beautiful bride Jaimie, our worlds changed forever upon hearing the news of Dad's cruel diagnosis of a rare form of Cancer just one day after.
Losing the future we were supposed to have as a family, we had 2 memorable weeks together in both the JR Hospital and finally Katherine House Hospice whom this page is all about. A quiet place that goes about its daily business completely voluntary, a place that you do not come across until these things happen to you personally. The palliative care the nurses & Dr's gave to my dad and my family were simply incredible. We can not thank them all enough for their support, understanding & care for my father even after his passing.
To help this amazing place continue to provide support and care for other families, Jaimie & I are going to embark on a challenge, on the 2nd September, that will see us walk from our home in London to the local Katherine House in Adderbury where dad sadly passed away. A total of 62 miles, (£10 a mile for each year of my father's life) or 100km for our Kiwi friends and try to complete this within 24 hours.
We would like to share this experience with all of our friends and family and so we are inviting you all to join us at any stage of the trip for as long or as little as you can to celebrate Dad's life and hopefully raise as much money as possible for this amazing place.
On behalf of all my family, we thank-you for your time in reading this and support for Katherine House Hospice with any donations that you can make.

7 years agoWE DID IT!!!! Where do I start, more miles than we thought, more pain than I thought, way too many more blisters than we would have liked but more support at the end that we could not have imagined to get us through the last 3.5 miles. Family, friends, neighbours, family friends old & new all came together to support this amazing charity in memory of Ian Putt. A true gentleman, quiet family man who would do anything for his family. It was my turn to do something for him and for Katherine House Hospice and we loved every minute of it. Thank-you

7 years agoSo passed the half way barrier. 11 miles done with the amazing Megan, Emma & Jamie. And the final few with Geoff. You guys are rock. A dinner prepared by Mum, Lawrence & Emma on half way point was amazing. Feet are sore but moral is high! #supportkhh #fordad
