Raymond during his life was very interested in the health of older people, as reflected in the number in his practice in Cadogan Park, Belfast.

During his life he often supported schemes in developing countries to improve care of Older People.

Any funding received will be managed by 'The international Association of Physical Therapists working with Older People' (IPTOP), which Olwen was partly instrumental in establishing in the late 1990s. Raymond supported Olwen in this activity.

Iptop have agreed set up ’The Dr Raymond Finlay Award’ which will support therapists from developing countries. The Association currently involves over 45 countries many of whom are in the process of developing their own care programs for the elderly.
