Story
At 25 weeks pregnant Michelle was diagnosed with pre-eclamsia HELLP syndrome and was rushed to a specialist hospital in London 77 miles from home. Jack was born weighing 1lb 4oz and has been in hospital fighting for 9 weeks now and has many hurdles still to come. We have been extremely lucky to have been given accommodation by a charity that houses families that live far away and we intend to raise as much money as we can doing a sponsored bike ride once Jack is Home to say thank to the Ronald McDonald charity in Tooting. Unfortunately life outside of the hospital carries on and Jacks dad who is self employed still has to work to pay bills and support our family. We are asking for help, to help to cover theTravelling cost to and from London, whether by car or train it can cost around £100 a week so he can visit Jack whilst still working. Jack has had a very rocky journey and sadly is not showing signs of transferring nearer to home any time soon as he has taken a knock back.
We have so many people we would love to show support to as they have and still are supporting us through this difficult time.
Every penny left from what we raise we intend to donate to both the Ronald McDonald House and the Neonatal unit at St. George's Hospital as they are both amazing and we would like to give something back.

7 years agoJack Elliott Double is NOW HOME XXXXX On the 23rd of September we got to take our little man home with us to complete our little family. Thank you all again for your support and we will be continuing to raise money for these two Charities for a long time as we have a lot to be thankful to them for. Please remember the Charity boxes in Mc Donald's is the charity house that provided us with accommodation whilst Jack was at St georges so please give when possible.

7 years agoSo with no feeding tube and now left with just a little oxygen through his nose we are told we are ready to take Jack home. We can not believe the time has come for us to bring our brave little fighter home. But obviously not without a blip. Jack had the Rotavirus immunisation and it sent him a little off course with his oxygen requirement. Just another 5 days added on to our stay which was nothing for us really. A little adjustment to his formula milk and a good week overnight stay with Jack in hospital and we are set to go home.

7 years agoAt Colchester Hospital i can say there is an absolutely brilliant, caring team that looked after Jack whilst he was there. So astounded by Jacks records of what he had been through since being born they was all amazed at how well he was doing and the consultant decided to remove his Vapour Firm and put him on Nasal Canula which only had zero pressure but delivers pure oxygen at a level of which Jack would decide. At the same time Jack has been progressing with his feeding and decided he'd had enough of his feeding tube and pulled in out.
