On the 4th of March I will be running the London half maraton on my own, to raise money for sepsis and the burns unit to which both are close to my heart.

I lost my mum 2 and a half years ago to sepsis. At the time we didn't know what it was. Sepsis is when the body's response injures it's own tissues or organs. It causes the organs to begin to fail. Left undetected it can lead to death. My sister also recently suffered with Sepsis, she was lucky to be diagnosed early enough to be treated successfully.

Tempest is also a unit close to my heart as two of my boys have been treated in the burns unit. Tempest is the Welsh centre for burns. It deals with plastic surgery and reconstruction.

Both these charities are based locally in Morriston hospital. Any donations would be greatly received and passed onto these units.
