Story
In memory of my friend Dick Lane I am participating in the Great North Swim, for a charity which he was heavily involved with, the African Sisters of St Mary. I am hoping to raise money to replace the sister’s milk cow which died. Dick was trying to raise money before he sadly passed away. The larger aim of the sisters is to benefit their wider community especially women and children. Any donations, no matter the size, would be incredibly welcome.
This is the first challenge raising money I have set myself since my car accident. When I started swimming again a few months ago I could only manage 2 lengths of a small pool without stopping. Today I managd 400 meters open water swimming.

6 years agoMassive thanks to everyone. I have managed to find a wesuit to hire... this is all getting frighteningly real 😱. I have my flip flops (painful lesson learnt during my practice swim)... just to get to target now for this cow 🐮
