    Story

On the 6th April 2016 our family sadly lost my Dad Jeff Maye after a short battle to Leukaemia at the age of 63. My father was a devoted and passionate pleasure and match angler all his life, even when he was very poorly with his illness with the support of his match team friends he was able to attend his very last winter league match despite being very poorly.

He was very devoted to always supporting others and was a generous man who would always give of his time and support others in need especially in his local community and especially his fellow anglers.

On the 2nd April 2017 in his memory we organised his first memorial match that was held on one of his favourite waters Lakeside in Portsmouth.

The money raised on the day plus what was donated via last years just giving page totalled £852 which was donated to Portsmouth & District Angling Societies Charitable Fund . The PDAS charitable fund was set up to provide a level of support to those in need, and to make spontaneous random gestures of kindness to those who would benefit in times of need which is voted on by the PDAS members committee. The money raised last year was distributed to two charities one for the blind the other for cereal palsy which would have greatly pleased my Dad.

This year his second memorial match will be held on the 1st July so that even more of his angling friends can attend and hope we raise an even greater total this year!

As a family we would be hugely grateful for any donation no matter how small that you are able to make to help support my fundraising efforts. All donations will be properly thanked and acknowledged on the day.

My Dad gave my the passion for angling and was a very generous and supportive man. I cannot think of anything more fitting than raising money in his memory via his memorial charity fishing match.
