"You're alright for a wee Jambo"

One of my oldest & dearest friends Katrina recently lost her dad and I wasn't able to attend his funeral. I therefore wanted to do something in his memory. Billy Mason passed away on 28/05/18 after a short battle with renal cancer. This is sadly ironic considering that he had undergone a successful kidney transplant to treat the years of kidney failure which he had received weekly dialysis for. He was only just beginning to enjoy early retirement and the freedom having a functioning kidney provided. He was 58 (not 59 as I'd previously stated!! Sorry Billy haha!).

No-one should have to lose a family member or friend that young if it can be helped. So I have entered the Great Scottish Run on 30/09/18 (hopefully with some pals!) to raise funds for the NHS Lothian Kidney Transplant Endowment fund in order to donate to the renal unit that Billy attended for many years. Billy's consultant wrote back to us recently saying - "funds raised will be used for patient comforts, staff training & education within the Transplant Unit enabling better service provision for its patients."

I only did my first ever 10k last year and thought I might pass out/spew on the finish line so safe to say I'm shitting it! haha, your donations will keep my hobbit legs going!
