Story
Berkeley would have been 60 in October this year and Georgina, Alex and I thought it would be an excellent idea to honour his memory and celebrate good times by buying a memorial bench in Alexandra Park. The park was one of several local open spaces we enjoyed spending time all together and ,with its views across Crouch End and Highgate overlooks many of Berkeley's old haunts.If you are able to contribute towards this it would be wonderful. 7 years agoI met the Park manager in Alexandra Park this week to identify the location. for Berkeleys Bench. It will replace an existing bench in the Grove . The path where the bench will be, backs onto the Spinney which is full of oaks ,hornbeams , holly and beech trees. In the Spring daffodils , aconites and snowdrops followed by bluebells,cow parsley and comfrey. So there is a real sense of the passage of the seasons. The bench gets lots of afternoon sunshine with a little bit of shade . Thanks to everyone who has been able to donate so far.
