My 14 year old son Alex was diagnosed in Renal Failure in March 2016. Since then Alex has deteriorated and is now in End Stage Renal Disease. In June Alex was granted a wish from the Starlight Charity and chose Legoland Windsor. He had such a fantastic weekend, that we have decided to try and take him again. As since returning home Alex has been very down and withdrawn. He cannot do things that other children do. In order to have a few days away, this requires several weeks of preparation. Alex is on dialysis for 10 hours per night 6 nights a week. He is unable to leave his bed during the treatment. This treatment and medication is all that is keeping Alex alive, until a suitable Donor becomes available. We would like to give Alex who also has high functioning Autism, some lovely memories and experiences to keep his spirits up.
