Story
Our friends at Yates are taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge to raise funds to help us continue with our voluntary work, we are so grateful to them. This year we will provide a Christmas present for 100's of children from troubled families or who are really ill. Each present is bespoke and purchased specifically for the child in question. Some of the children are from the poorest of backgrounds in some of the most poverty stricken areas in the UK.The present is purchased for a child’s, gender, age and suitability, ensuring all gifts complies with safety standards and regulations.
Care for Kids ensures that the Child receives the gift via the Social worker in question who delivers the gift directly to the child’s accommodation prior to the 23rd December.
Operation Christmas Child is a core part of what we undertake, some of the children are extremely vulnerable and often victims of Child Sexual Exploitation. Others are very ill and have long term conditions; many of them are from poor and low income families and often suffer from neglect. As poverty in the UK is on the increase we will commit and continue to provide a Christmas gift for a child within a troubled family and it is anticipated that we will reach over 2000 gifts in 2018.
Additionally after successfully installing a water hole in a village in Ghana, Africa we commenced work to build an orphanage. Many of the children are orphans, their parents deceased through diseases. They sleep rough and become ill, monsoons are not uncommon.
All of the Children are all victims, they are hungry, cold and destitute, sleeping in bins or on derelict land and dangerous outside areas. Working with aid agencies and a local catholic priest we commenced work on the 12th February 2017. The construction of the main buildings are now complete and we are now currently raising funds to furnish this home with beds, storage units and make it as homely as possible for these poor children who basically have nothing. Thank you.
