    Story

Jude was born in October 2012 at a healthy 8lb 2oz. Jude suffered with colic, reflux and struggled to fed.

At 4 months Jude was diagnosed with a milk allergy and was prescribed a hypoallergenic formula called Nutramigen AA (now known as Nutramigen puramimo) which resolved the majorities of his issues.

That was until we started weaning. Jude was then diagnosed with more and more food allergies. Feeding was such a struggle and then at 10 months Jude just refused to eat. Our local hospital then referred us to Great ormond street hospital (GOSH) and Jude was booked to have an endoscopy, colonoscopy and an impedance study. Jude was 17 months old.

Jude's results showed Jude suffered with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) and a eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease called Eosinophilic colitis. Jude was prescribed steroids and he was finally pain free but this was short lived as once the steroid course finished the inflammation returned.

Jude's consultant then prescribed immunosuppressants which made a massive difference to Jude's pain and flare ups however introducing food still caused a major problem. It became apparent that Jude was not responding to the usual treatment.

Jude is now 4 years old and still cannot tolerate any food. We recently had a 4 week stay at GOSH where he underwent food trials. This was a complete fail.

Jude is currently undergoing tests to look at his immune system to see if there is any abnormality there.

Jude is desperate to eat food just like his friends and we are hoping that we are close to answers and treatment that will help Jude achieve this simple and natural goal.

All funds raised will be used to support Jude and his family during hospital stays with the ultimate goal to see a specialist abroad.

Next step in Jude's journey is a feeding tube for Jude as he cannot keep up with his nutritional needs. This has been a hard decision for us as a family but feel that it's the right decision to support Jude and give him the energy levels he needs when starting reception in September x
