    Story

Hi, I'm Julian Eley, Senior Project Manager at BW Workplace Experts and I will be taking part in the Jungle Ultra 2023, an epic self-sufficient foot race in the Rain Forest in Peru in June 2023.

I am raising money to support BPIC Network in providing opportunities for the youth on their pursuit for careers in the construction industry. Within BPIC Network, there is an initiative called BPIC 100, started with an aim of getting organizations to commit to engaging with 100 apprenticeships, graduates, and internships to help kick start those early careers. The network works extensively in schools and universities to raise construction industry career awareness.

BPIC Network frequently collaborate with organisations that provide them with ambassadors to visit schools or engage in construction billboard campaigns promoting Careers In Construction Campaigns from a young age. Amos Simbo, Director at BPIC Network has commented,

Supporting underrepresented groups is crucial for creating a fair and just society. By actively working to support and uplift BPIC Network, we can help to level the playing field and create a more inclusive society. Very pleased with Julian’s efforts in supporting our early careers via funds raised from Jungle Ultra 2023. Ultimately, supporting underrepresented groups is not only the right thing to do, but it also benefits society by promoting diversity, equity, and progress and his support will go a long way in supporting young people kick start their careers in construction

The Jungle Ultra is a breath-taking footrace through the Amazon Rainforest where Julian will run, scramble, and fight his way through 230km of remote jungle, journeying from cloud forest to amazon basin in five days in a race that is split into five stages.

I’m excited to be taking part in this amazing event. Not only is this a huge physical & mental challenge but also a great opportunity to raise awareness for the challenges we are facing in the construction industry. I would like to thank the BPIC network for their efforts within our industry and their personal support they have provided over the recent months.
