Our daughter Kaydie (Kaydie’s Voice from Facebook) is currently in hospital in Preston with no discharge date in sight. She cannot control her own body temperature and is absolutely cooking in her room on the ward. We have been trying to cool her down due to this extremely hot weather we are having-by putting wet towels and wet paper towels all over her but it just isn’t working, and the hotter she gets-the more unsettled she is becoming. We have even tried cool mats and ice in front of a fan, but nothing is getting the air cool. Our hope is to buy a portable air conditioning unit to use in Kaydies’ room so she can at least be cool whilst not at home. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. We have looked into which unit to buy and they range from £200-£1000. We, as a family, unfortunately aren’t able to just go out and buy one, and that is why we are asking for help. If for some miracle we manage to raise more than Kaydie needs, we would love to be able to treat her big brother Jayden to a nice present of his choosing as this is yet another six-week school summer holidays he is spending having to be shipped out here there and everywhere while his sister is in hospital Xxx
