Jean Murray was a loving wife, mam, grandma , sister and friend passed away on Friday , August 3rd 2018. Following a recent illness and diagnosis of Lung cancer.

Instead of friends or family providing flowers for her funeral. Jeans family have asked for donations towards puchasing a portable syringe driver pump in her memory.

To try and control her pain Jean was placed on a syringe driver a portable machine that provides patients with a continuous stream of pain relieving medication during end of life care. These machines help people remain comfortable at home without having to go into the hospital or local hospice.

These syringe drivers are limited. Mam needed a second syrine driver and due to the machines being of short supply had to wait for one to become available before the district nurses had a the second syringe driver to help.

Mckinley scringe drivers are used by the NHS in the community and cost approx £1800 each these machines are kept in a “lock box“ to prevent them from being tampered with.
