Story
Friday the 19th of June marks the 1 year anniversary of the passing of Adrian ‘Lionheart’ McCallum. To honour and remember him and his 16 year wrestling career, a 16 kilometre route across Glasgow has been laid out that I, along with a few of Adrian’s good mates plan to run on his anniversary. It’s been planned out to pass the major venues in the city that he performed in like the kelvin hall, maryhill, the Barrowlands right up to the biggest stage he headlined, The Hydro.
The run will not be so much about time of completion but more focused on celebrating Adrian’s success across the city and remembering the mark he left on Glasgow.
In the U.K. suicide is still the biggest single killer of men under the age of 45. By doing this run we are looking to raise awareness and funds to help combat this terrible statistic. Any funds we raise will be given directly to Andy’s Man Club, a non-judgemental taking group for men and the creators of the #itsokaytotalk movement. With that in mind this page has been set up for anyone wishing to donate in memory of Adrian.
With so much happening in the world today, donating to every cause needing attention right now can be difficult. So to say thank you for your support, every donation of £5 or more will automatically be entered into a raffle draw.
The raffle will then take place in the week following the run, with prizes made up of wrestling memorabilia. From ring worn gear to signed 8x10s, all prizes have been gifted from some of U.K. Wrestling’s biggest stars and Adrian’s closest friends. A list of the potential prizes will be laid out in the coming days.
*Terms of Raffle*
- Raffle will be drawn live on social media the week following the run.
- A donation of £5 will be counted as a single raffle entrant.
- Donations left anonymously will not be entered into the draw.
- Multiple raffle entrants are allowed meaning donations of more than £5 will be counted accordingly e.g. £10 gets two chances/£15 gets three chances and so on
- All prizes will be laid out prior to the run on social media and each will be randomly drawn alongside the winners.
- All prizes of merchandise are provided by the donor, meaning T-Shirts are only in size provided and can’t be exchanged for different sizes
- All prizes will be drawn randomly alongside the winners with prize provided final. Prizes can’t be exchanged through the organisers and aren’t intended for resale.
- Prizes won are intended for the winners and can’t be regifted through the organisers (this is excluding GPWA Training prize)
- Cost of postage and packaging of prizes to winners will be covered independently to ensure all money raised goes solely to Andy’s Man Club.
- Shipping will be worldwide to ensure we raise as much money possible in Adrian’s name.
