Iʼve raised £728 to help towards the costs of building more toilets and a clean water borehole for the Kubuneh School in The Gambia, to benefit over 500 pupils.

Story
Originally the school was just a nursery school and the sanitary facilities were suitable for the expected number of pupils at that time, which was 100, however the need was greater than ever anticipated as more children from surrounding villages attended the school. There was a need to expand the school to include the Upper Basic School to increase the age range taught so in order for their education not to end there. Now nearly 600 children attend the school but the sanitary arrangement has stayed the same and are failing with the increased usage.
In order to build an additional toilet block with traditional toilets and provide a borehole to provide safe and clean handwashing and drinking water, a total of £3500 needs to be raised. This water would provide safe for drinking, cooking and handwashing for the school children and hopefully their families too.
The opening amount is the amount raised less the Justgiving fees has been what has been raised by donations and an event to date.

I have an ambition with your help and support to raise as much money as I can to help pay or partly pay for better sanitation by providing extra toilets and a clean water borehole providing safe drinking, cooking and handwashing water to the pupils, staff and their families.
