Antonin Markovic was a 57 year old man who was part of our community in Hyde Park, Doncaster. Antonin, lived and worked here for 16 years. He was a cleaner at the higher education college in Doncaster. He was a family man that loved to bake, mend cars and tend to his garden.

His wife, four children and two grandchildren are left traumatised by the events that took place on Sunday 14 May when he was assaulted in the street outside his home.

While it only took the police only 10 minutes to arrive at the scene, it took the ambulance 40 minutes to arrive, which may have possibly contributed to his failure to recover.

Antonin was married to his Marie for 26 years. Marie is now left supporting her children and newly born grandchild with the huge responsibility of ensuring the family stays together through this shocking time.

Antonin will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the wider community.

Marie wants Antonin to be reunited with his family in the Czech Republic.
The money raised will go towards the cost of the funeral in his home country.
